Exploring Marketing and Business (8th Grade)
Course Description

Exploring Marketing and Business Principles destop publishing course designed to expose students to all functions of business through an online company simulation.  This real world experience challenges students to enhance a company's business and marketing plan through desktop publishing software. 
Students will learn the importance of preparing a thorough business plan and will prepare professional advertising promotional materials.  The goal of the simulation is to gain familiarity with desktop publishing software while developing aesthetically pleasing and professional promotional materials to enhance visibility and brand recognition.

                                   

Daily Class Activities 

Activities will include developing logos and stationary to increase visibility, foster credibility, and establish strong communication among customers and vendors.  Students will discuss the importance of generating brand equity through ancillary products and promotional strategies such as:  t-shirts, magnets, placemats, brochures, flyers, and advertisements, etc.   Students will also determine which advertising activities are most effective and offer the best return on investment.
